Its a Turdday - Definition of Poop

Its a another Thursday!!! So I was curious and did some research of the word 'poop' which came back some interesting results which of course came the obvious and a part of a boat superstructure of a ship!

Wikipedia
Poop deck From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Poop deck of a model of the Soleil-Royal, as seen from the forecastleIn naval architecture, a poop deck is a deck that forms the roof of a cabin built in the aft(rear) part of the superstructure of a ship.
The name originates from the French word for sternla poupe, from Latin puppis. Thus the poop deck is technically called a stern deck, which in sailing ships was usually elevated as the roof of the stern or "after" cabin, also known as the "poop cabin". In sailing ships, with the helmsman at the stern, an elevated position was ideal for bothnavigation and observation of the crew and sails.
The fantail is an overhang at the extreme rear of the ship, aft of the poop deck and closer to level with the main deck.[1][2] On a stern wheel steamboat, the fantail supports the large paddle wheel and is typically angled upwards so the shaft of the paddle wheel can sit higher than the main deck. On some steamboats, the extreme end of the fantail supports "monkey" rudders that mimic the operation of the main rudders in order to provide additional steering control.
On modern, motorized warships, the ship functions which were once carried out on the poop deck have been moved to the bridge, usually located on the superstructure in the center of the ship or the island on the starboard side in the case of aircraft carriers.
In nautical parlance, "to be pooped" means to have a wave come over the stern from abaft.

To have a wave go over the rear end of the ship is "to be pooped"!!!!!!

Urban Dictionary defines it as;

poop5292 up679 down
Bodily waste of varying color, viscosity, shape, odor and texture. Usually exits the body through your pooper, speed, noise and degree of pain may vary depending on what you ate.
even the soda at taco bell makes me poop.

2.poop3062 up850 down
a large, atrocious enormous blob of brownish stuff that comes out of your ass in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes crawling out, other times catapulting out, creating huge splashes.
The poop shot out of my butt at rapid fire speed.

As the poop hit the water, it was immediately lost to sight.

It's a Turdday - Shitbox Rally

Shitbox RallySomething I came across by way of the wife whose childhood and life long friend is participating in the Shitbox Rally. You may ask what is the Shitbox Rally Don?

Well I will tell you!!

It's a rally, but what is different about this one is that we take shitty cars and see if we can drive them across Australia. During this time we will truly experience the Australian outback and have a hell of a laugh along the way.

This rally is for those that want to have an adventure, that crave something different, something memorable, but most importantly, it’s for those who want to raise much needed money for charity.

Many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. Whether it be parents, family, close friends, people we know or ourselves that have battled or are battling cancer, this all too common disease has touched us all. We not only want to raise awareness and money for the Cancer Council, but we want to be able to offer support and a friendly ear to those that have suffered or are suffering.

Each team will have to raise Aus$4000 (RM12,000) of which Aus$1000 is given back to purchase a car and Aus$500 for petrol. All safety issues such as tyres and extra gas is at the expense of the participant.

An incredible unique way to raise funds for cancer and a good way to have grand and wonderful experience.
Something I would like to do in the future!!!

What to Do As A Father! - An Essay Road Trip

In 2006 Ashe (my daughter) then Primary 3 student was given a mid term assignment to write about her up coming holidays and hand it in after the holidays. To be honest, Cinda and myself had nothing planned other than being relieved that we could sleep in a little bit. So we decided to plan a driving trip to visit my eldest bro Jules and Tips the wife and my grand nephew (and godson) Damon. They live in Keningau (about 138km from KK) then it is a relatively short drive (50km) to Uncle Richard and Cousin Gerald diary farm in Sapong (just after Tenom).

So we decided on a 4 day break. First is the drive over Crocker Range which reaches as high as 4000 ft above sea level. Views are mainly secondary forested area. At the highest point at Gunung Emas we had a coffee break before heading to Tambunan. The main interior of the Dusun folks. A political stronghold of PBS.

Then to Keningau. The name Keningau is derived from Kayu manis (Cinnamon) which apparently grew in abundance in the area. Its guarded by two major ranges the Crocker on the west and Trus Mardi in the East and South. My dad was the District Officer (the first local DO I might add) in the early 1960's when my brother John was born. Jules now resides in the town. (further details of Keningau refer to http://www.kinabaluweb.com/keningau.html)

The drive took was enjoyable and the kids go through many phases - excitement (early in the drive), curious, hunger, boredom which usually leads to sleep and then ....ahhh silence.

In Keningau we stayed with Jules who is a proud owner of a farm, about 20 minutes away. Here you see him showing a cocoa pod to my kids.

His farm includes papaya, coffee, cocoa and the main cash crop oil palm.

Tristan and myself next to a coffee tree.

Coffee beans before they are plucked, dried and fried and grinded. Throw it in a sock and pour hot water...ahhhhh! (I think I need a coffee break) Ashe of course had samples.

The cocoa pods on a tree.

Cocoa is tasty, sweet-sour taste. The beans are used for chocalate and made into cocoa butter (which are used for cosmetics as well) Tried to get Ashe to eat one but was reluctant. She however kept a bean for a sample for her essay.

The next day we visited Uncle Richard, Unty Pu Chan and Gerald. Below is the house they live in which was built in 1950's and renovated in early 2000. It is beautiful and the nearest thing to paradise. My grandad John Baxter who was English came pre WWII and worked as a Plantation manager, married a local and never went back. He passed away at 90 odd years old. He was believed to have brought in Coffee and Cocoa into Sabah. We had few acres of coffee trees at the back of the house. As a kid on holiday he would make us pick coffee beans, and paid us 5 cent a bag. We then put in on a corrugated roof to let it dry. But it was satisfying to drink coffee from your own land. But we did feed quite a few mosquitoes in the process. But it is currently a diary farm 500 odd cows if I am not mistaken (all the milk you can drink). Real fresh milk you can smell the cow!!!

We of course visited the diary farm and said hello to the cows.

Here Cinda with the kids and Damon. All in all it was a great experience for all of us!!

Special thanks to Jules, Tips and Damon for welcoming us in their home. Tips has the best recipe for pork belly barbeque which I always look forward to.

On the way back home and "Are we there yet!?" and "I'm tired!" and "I need to go wee wee!" and "I'am hungry!!".... when are they going to sleep?

Without saying, Ashe of course got a 'A' for her essay and we had a very educative, fun and enjoyable time together!!!

The Turd That Almost Didn't Get Away!

The end of 2004 Cinda, myself and the kids visited her family for Christmas holidays. One of her untie gave us the opportunity to stay with her at a friends holiday home in Kings Cliff which is just after Byron Bay and is a short drive to Surfers Paradise from there. The only catch was the drive from Bangor (suburbs south of Sydney) to Kings Cliffs, is a 857 Km drive. We were fortunate that one of Cinda's uncle offered us his Mazda 6 and the petrol card (emm car and petrol). The tricky bit was we were going back to Malaysia in 4 days. That meant one day of driving, one day at Surfers Paradise, one day of driving, one day of packing then off back to Malaysia on a 7 hr flight to Kota Kinabalu (we miss those direct flights!!).

Jus the bro-in-law drove all the way and took us about 12 hrs including the breaks for food and toilet.

On the trip back I drove about half of the way and had some crocodile pie at Kempsey. My 21 month old boy was in a bit of distress with a bit of constipation with too much seating in the car. We had to make a couple of stops. But no luck, no "brownies". Being a father, I of course took pictures and film it for future references. Here you can see the distressed boy with his mother. Cinda look worried as well.

We did take Tristan to the doctors the next day and he finally pooped with some difficulty when we had Yam Cha (dim sum) with Cinda's godparents. So nothing like good dim sum to make you go!!!

The Turd That got Away! (Part 2 The Jacuzzi Incident)

Posted by Picasa
The incident occurred in 1999 in Kuala Lumpur while my parent-in-law was based in KL. We decided to have a break and stay at the Shangri-La KL for a couple of days. We did the usual shopping and utilization of the great facilities of the hotel including the pool and Jacuzzi.
My eldest daughter Ashe then 1+ old joined us at the jacuzzi which could fit about eight people. We had three generation of family in there. After about half an hour we noticed brown bits floating about and we thought "emmmm herbal therapy jacuzzi". Ashe now in distress and not knowing what to do tried to get out while holding back the rest of the "brown bits". On realizing the the situation all three generation got out pretty quickly!!
We checked the jacuzzi the next day and the "herbal therapy" treatment was still there!! Hope no one used it. Err.. after 11 years on behalf of the family I would like to take full responsibility for the incident.

Thinking back at least Ashe had a very high fibre diet....all the bits floated!!!
(Note: No child was mentally harm in retelling this story as permission was granted)

The Turd That got Away! (Part 1)

PART 1
Jacob (15 month son) was having his usual hot shower in the tub. Cinda's way of relaxing him before his nap time. She popped out of the bathroom to speak to me. Suddenly we heard a huge shriek from Jacob. Fearing the worse, hurting himself again (which includes running into a wall while chasing a cat) or another centipede incident in the tub (with Cinda) we rushed to the bathroom.

Jacob was still screaming out of fear and trying to climb out of the tub. Cinda picked him up and we notice a brown banana like shaped in the tub. On closer inspection Jacob had pooped and not realizing it was a product of his own making, freaked out. Like all real dads out there, the first thing I did was to catch the moment!!! Ahhhh Jacob a Kodak moment!!
